Ingredients

  • 1 lb Jumbo shell pasta
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • ½ tsp salt for sauce
  • 1 tbsp salt for pasta
  • ½ tsp ground red pepper
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 8 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Pasta

  1. Heat 4 quartz of water in a large pot on high heat and add 1 tablespoon of salt as the water begins to boil.

  2. Throw in uncooked pasta and a bit of oil (to prevent sticking) and boil for 10-15mins or until al dente.

Sauce

  1. Heat up a saucepan on medium heat with 2 tablespoons of canola oil

  2. Thrown in chopped onions and garlic and fry.

  3. Add in salt, pepper, oregano, ginger, lemon juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, tomato sauce and stir for about 2 mins

  4. Add in heavy cream, vegeble broth, nutritional yeast and simmer for about 10 minutes.

  5. Add in boiled pasta and shredded cheese. Combine thoroughly.

  6. Top with cilantro or basil and Enjoy!
