Raise your hands if you dislike seasonal friendships.
Because I know for a fact that I do.
It’s hard to say goodbye to a friend, but sometimes it needs to happen. This isn’t always because you’ve fallen out of love with them: Sometimes, you’re just not compatible with someone on a deep enough level anymore.
Here are seven signs that will help you determine if your seasonal friendship needs to end.
7 SIGNS YOUR SEASONAL FRIENDSHIP IS OVER
It’s natural to have disagreements with friends. You might not see eye-to-eye on some of the issues that matter most to you, or you may have different ideas about how something should be done. That’s OK! It’s important to remember that your friendships aren’t meant to be perfect. But if you find yourself constantly disagreeing with your friend and never reaching common grounds, it might be a sign the friendship has served its purpose and it’s time to cut ties.
Your paths don’t align
There’s nothing wrong with having different life goals. However, if those goals are causing you and your friend to embark on completely different life paths, it may be time to part ways.
Maybe you both started out with the same vision and goals, but somewhere along the way plans started to change? This could be a sign that your seasonal friendship may be coming to an end..
You can’t be yourself around them
If you constantly have to downplay your gifting or pretend to be someone you’re not in the company of such friends, it may be time to let go and start embracing the person you are made to be.
There are some friends who will not agree with your purpose. And it’s okay to let go of them.
They only hit you up for favors or prying
Do they show up out of the blues when they need something? That’s a good sign of a seasonal friendship you need to let go of. You deserve to have real friends, not people who constantly take advantage of you.
Not every seasonal friendship that has run its course would stir up jealousy, but oftentimes, this could be a good sign.
Do they constantly try to downplay your success?
Maybe you should consider that as a sign to let that friendship go.
They bring out negative traits in you
Friends should make you better, not worse. And if there’s a friend in your life who brings out the worst in you, you need to let them go.
They take advantage of your wounds
If there is someone in your life who you’ve become vulnerable with and as a result is now mistreating you. End it!
Friendships are supposed to bring about healing, not the opposite. So if there’s anyone in your life who is taking advantage of your pain or trauma, let them go..
