Omg what the heck happened to 2017? where did it just disappear to. I still remember jumping around my old apartment with Abe screaming happy 2017, and now I’m here typing up this blog post ready to scream happy 2018!
It fascinating how time flies and most importantly, it fascinating how a lot can happy in one year to completely change a person. It fascinating how time flies and most importantly, it fascinating how a lot can happy in one year to completely change a person. Click To Tweet
I mean, this year really did teach me a lot of things about myself and my potentials that I never really thought I had.
This blog was also created this year, and I’m proud of myself for being consistent (at times) with my posts. After ditching my old blog, which I discussed about HERE, I didn’t think I was going to enjoy blogging again when I created this site.
I thought I may have to fall back to my old ways of being completely lost and clueless on what to write, but that hasn’t been the case so far.
I’m very passionate about the things I write, and I’m also thankful for those who stop by once in a while to check up on my latest posts. Ya’ll are the real MVP!
I don’t even know what to expect or plan for the new year. Everyone starts off with a resolution, but I personally feel like resolutions to me last for the first 3 months and BAM…..back to my old ways.I don't even know what to expect or plan for the new year. Sometimes I do wish I could stick to a resolution and not necessarily bounce back to being old Eleanor. I guess maybe 2018 might be a start? (lol, who am I kidding!)
But.. I do want to add that I’m very thankful for a new year and all the lessons that I learned from 2017.
Just a few things..
So for the new year, I’m looking to implement a few changes. You might call it a resolution, but it’s really just a few changes guys, not promises.
Rebranding my blog:
I’m definitely not changing everything about this website, but one thing for sure that I do want to work on a lot more is sticking to a cohesive theme.
By this, I simply mean, a cohesive picture color theme, a cohesive logo and a specific font. Basically whatever gives people a chance to fully identify my brand (which is me, obviously).
A posting schedule:
I currently don’t have a posting schedule, so a lot of my posts tend to be all over the place on my calendar. I’m thinking of sticking to posting twice or three times a week, since I would be out of school for the most of the spring semester due to my internship.
Shoot me an email with your suggestions on a posting schedule you feel would be ideal. I love hearing your thoughts as it does help a ton.
I know I’ve said it a lot of times that I would start incorporating more videos into my posts, but honestly, it just never seemed to work out well in my favor. I’m such a perfectionist and usually I like things to be in order, which basically means; good lightening, great camera, good quality, and most importantly, good content.
I wouldn’t want to put up a crappy video for the sake of putting up a video, so just give me some time okay? I promise, I’m working hard on it.
You can follow my youtube channel HERE, and hopefully 2018 might just bring about the content I’ve been promising.
More beauty related posts:
So if you don’t know by now, my blog is a beauty, food and lifestyle blog and I seriously would love to keep it that way. However, I’ve noticed that lately I’ve been more interested in the beauty side of things, than the food side of things. I’ve also noticed that quite a lot of you tend to enjoy my beauty posts a lot more, so I’m definitely thinking of putting in more content that you guys would enjoy.
I’m obviously not completely getting rid of the food and lifestyle part of things, but I’m just trying to narrow down my niche a lot more, and seems like the beauty part really pushes my interest most of the time.
I still love cooking and I also love sharing recipes, but I’m considering fusing the food and lifestyle part of things into one category.
More guest posting:
I’m not making this a promise, but I do want to start bringing in some new voices into my blog. It’s really difficult reaching out to the biggest beauty influencers for guest posts, but hopefully I’d be able to step out of my comfort zone and try.
Since my blogging journey started, I haven’t taken email subscription seriously AT ALL. In fact, sometimes I feel like my readers find it annoying having a bunch of “please subscribe” sign ups floating around my site.
I do want to make it easier for people to be able to get access to my content without scanning through their inbox, so I guess branding my social media to be more in style with my website would make things a lot more easier.
Anyways, I hope you guys would stick around for the rest of my journey in blogging. Let me know in the comments some changes you’re planning on making this year!
xo, Eleanor ♥
