For the past couple weeks, I’ve been skipping breakfast. It’s not something I’ve been consciously doing, but rather, something that happens as a result of my poor sleeping habit. Since it’s summer time and I don’t have any classes to wake up to, I find myself sleeping in a lot and waking up very late in the day.
Thankfully, all of that is starting to change, because nowadays I’m realizing how important my mornings are and how productive I tend to be.
Plus, since I’ve been using this bedtime feature on my iPhone to plan my sleep schedule, It has been helping me prepare better for bed as well as recording my sleep analysis.
Anyways, since I’m talking mornings and breakfast, I decided I would just come on here and have a chat with you guys while I show you some of the meals I eat on my lazy mornings.
Bread and Eggs
I’ve been eating a lot of bread lately.. It’s one food I don’t really eat as much– because of how fattening it is– but for some reason, I’ve just been craving it. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my mom loves bread and has been requesting it a ton. So I do find myself joining her in the eating process.
However, she did travel back home recently, so may be that might end up killing the cravings I have.
On the other hand, croissants have been my recent obsession. I tend to eat croissants like it’s water, and I just can’t seem to let go of my love for it. Ever since I first tried out the Starbucks chocolate croissants over 2 years ago, I haven’t been able to kill my cravings for it. It is just too darn good!!!..
I love me some good ole vanilla yoghurt… (I literally tried saying that with a southern accent)… And combining it with some fruits really makes it taste AMAZING! Sometimes when I’m completely out of yoghurt, I would substitute it with oatmeal. Because I do find oatmeal to be a great filler, especially if you’re on a diet.
I would admit, I love love drinking coffee, but these days I find green tea to be the next best thing. And I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it keeps my weight in check. I find that drinking green tea helps a ton in giving me energy for the day as well as keeping me full, which I believe has helped with shedding the pounds.
With that being said, I still love coffee though, especially my favorite iced coffee recipe which I still believe is the best iced coffee recipe out there. There’s just something about coffee that always grabs my attention. Maybe it’s the caffeine. But I don’t think I would be letting go of it anytime soon.
The other day, I happened to pick up a Keurig at goodwill for $10 and I believe it was one of those presents that God gifted me recently. He knows how much I’ve been wanting to own a high quality Keurig, but since it is super expensive, I couldn’t afford to get one.
It was a huge surprise to find it for stinking cheap at the thrift store… and I’m glad I finally get to own one.
A Morning isn’t a morning if you haven’t read a book…
Lately I’ve been on a book reading craze. I went shopping a couple days ago with my mom and spent over an hour just standing at the book section. She literally must have thought I was insane, but I honestly didn’t care. I ended up picking only 3 books that day, but I secretly wished I could buy it all.
Recently, I picked up Milk and honey by Rupi Kaur, and I honestly balled my eyes out while reading through the pages. Her poetry spoke deeply to my heart and I just couldn’t drop the book down. I even had to go social media stalking to find more of her written work. Because her writing is so good…
Reading her books reminded me of my love for poetry while growing up.. but this is a topic for another blog post….
