Who else reading this post is a book nerd?? Come on, don’t be shy.. Admit it! Because I know for a fact that I would choose staying at home to read an amazing book anyday over going out to parties (#introvertproblems).
But in all seriousness, I do love reading. And that’s why I came on here today to talk about the 5 Amazing books I’ve read so far.
Coming up with this list was definitely not easy, because I just happen to have a ton of amazing books in my collection. However, these ones just sort of stood out from the rest.
I would honestly admit that reading one of these books completely pushed me to get up and restart my youtube channel all over again. Because for a long time, I had talked myself out of recording videos by coming up with various excuses. But after I read this particular book that I’m going to discuss in a bit, I suddenly became inspired to record.
So without any further rambling, these are the 5 Amazing books that I’ve read so far.
P.S: Bill Gates is the inspiration behind this post..
Book #1: 13 things mentally strong people don’t do by Amy Morin
This book is a life saver! And yes, I’m being very honest when I say that, because this book allowed me to know exactly where my people-pleasing behavior stemed from. It is filled with so much wisdom and advice that I can’t seem to put it down. When I first saw this book at the store, I was completely hesistant at first to purchase it, but I’m so glad I listened to the tugging in my heart that pushed me to make a purchase.
The author has so much experience with patients that allows her to have an understanding of mental health. And honestly, if you’re someone who is in need of therapy, I would HIGHLY recommend you pick this up. There’s so much nuggets of wisdom you can pull from this book that will honestly change your perspective.
Book #2: Seeing behind the veil by Ana Werner
I spent reading half of this book in tears. Not because the book is emotional, but because it has so much healing in it that I truly believe it’s annointed. Plus Ana’s voice is very soothing and captivating in a way that inspires one to have a relationship with God.
I can’t even articulate in words how profound and inspiring her books are. If you want deeper intimacy with God, then I’d suggest giving this book a quick read. I promise, it will inspire you to go deeper.
Book #3: The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck
This book changed my life. Period. I went from being the girl who gave too many fucks, to the girl who gave less fucks. And it began to help me mentally. For a long time, I used to be a people pleaser and it was really starting to affect me both emotionally and mentally. However, after giving this book a quick read, I immediately gave up that trait that had been drilled in me for a long time. Everyone should give a fuck about this book. Because it is amazing. Book #4: Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis
This has been my best read so far this year. And it’s literally the book that pushed me to start running more and filming more. In fact, this book actually opened my eyes to know exactly what God has called me to do. And if I didn’t read it, I probably would still be running around in circles.
Rachel is such an amazing writer, and a very inspiring life coach. She always has the right words to say and I always pull wisdom from her. After reading this book, I literally went out to buy her newest release, girl stop apologizing, because I was so hooked!!
For some reason, I’ve been enjoying self-help books a lot lately, especially self-help books that have a sprinkle of faith in it. I find them to be very motivating, espeically in this season that feels quite draining.
Book #5: God is My CEO by Larry Julian
I briefly talked about this book in an old blog post, but I just felt the need to bring it back here again. I love this book so much because it honestly allowed me to truly understand my purpose. For a long time, I always knew God was calling me into business, but I just didn’t know exactly how to lay the foundation for my business. I kept worrying about success and failure which honestly made me a bit nervous to begin. However, after reading this book, I suddenly got this understanding of how God’s purpose in our lives always puts us in line with success, and I felt a bit of relief afterwards.
I like how the author was able to relate faith with business without sounding too preachy. Personally, I don’t like reading books or listening to speakers that are too preachy, so this was just the right fit for me. I highly recommend this book for people interested in business who need an understanding of their purpose and calling.
