This oven baked tilapia fillet recipe one is my favorites. It is one of those baked fish recipes that I always come back to because it is delicious. Not only that, but it is very easy to prepare and requires minimal time. Just place it in the oven for 35 minutes and you’re good to go.
Is it crazy that I’ve been a food blogger for the past 3+ years and have never posted a fish recipe? I honestly just reviewed my blog posts and realized I haven’t.
It could possibly be due to the fact that I don’t eat fish quite often. And when I do, it’s usually out of convenience as fish takes less time to cook than chicken.
However, I decided recently to introduce more fish recipes to the blog, therefore be on the lookout for some great recipes.
For the past couple weeks, I’ve been eating this oven baked tilapia fillet recipe. The reason why I’ve been cooking it is because of how easy it is to prepare.
On the days when I’m feeling lazy, this recipe comes through as a life saver. I just blend the ingredients in my food processor and voila! My dish is ready!
So if you just happen to be a fish lover and you are looking for something new to satisfy your cravings, then you should consider giving this oven baked tilapia fish fillet a try.
You would not only find it delicious, but versatile. It just happens to be that dish that you can eat with pretty much anything.
I personally choose to eat mine with homemade roti. But if you don’t want to make roti by yourself, then regular store bought tortilla would be a great alternative.
You can also combine this dish with white rice, bread or even plantains.
Oven Baked Tilapia Fillet Recipe
For this recipe, you will need a good food processor. Personally, I love using my black and decker food processor which gives me the consistency I need. Because this recipe requires a paste consistency instead of watery one, I would highly recommend NOT using a blender, as it tends to make the mixture watery.
For the fish, I chose to use tilapia fillet as it’s more gentle on my teeth and contains less bones. However, feel free to use this recipe on salmon or whole fish as it tastes just as amazing either way.
You can also use it on chicken breasts or smoked turkey as well.
I chose to use half a tomato for this recipe because I generally don’t like the sour taste of tomatoes. Therefore, to counteract it, I chose to reduce the quantity of tomato added and mix it with brown sugar. I find that the brown sugar helps in extracting flavor from the tomato, which in turn balances out the overall flavors in the dish.
If you do decide to give this recipe a try, and you don’t want to add brown sugar, then I suggest getting rid of the tomatoes. Tomatoes are completely optional, so don’t feel obligated to use it.
