I Don’t Have It All Figured Out And You Don’t Either

I’ve got to be honest with you, when I created this blog in 2017, I didn’t have it all figured out. It’s 2019, and I still don’t have it all figured out. All I know is the fact that I like writing and putting down my own opinions on the internet. And if someone happens to find it interesting and helpful to their lives, then so be it.

I’ve gone from writing about food to writing about beauty. And I’ve also gone from writing about faith to writing about relationships. It has really been a trial and error for me. But the fact is, during those months of switching things up and quitting, I’ve grown as a person. And I’ve also learned that It’s possible to do anything I put my mind to.

Some of those things I used to write about were fun in the moment, but after a while, I got bored. And it taught me more about myself and more about what I find value in.

And for those of you who have been around on the blog since it first got created. High five to you guys because honestly, you’re the ones that have seen me go from being a depressed lozer to a jerk. And from a jerk to a holy sanctified christian.

But that doesn’t mean I now have it all figured out, because I don’t. And I’m glad I don’t. Because then, I give myself the opportuinity to grow and discover my other talents while still remaining humble in the process.

Growing up, I was always told that I needed to have it all figured out. My mom and dad would always tell me to decide on what major I wanted to study in college. And even after I got into college and switched my major 3 times, they still couldn’t understand the fact that I don’t have it all figured out.

Thankfully, after going through some really hard times, I learned that the only way to truly have it all figured out is to stop trying to have it all figured out.

Sounds counterintuitive right? But that’s the point.

If we keep trying to figure things out, we would automatically stop ourselves from living to our fullest God given potentials. In fact, we would always be searching for something without really living in the moment.

And since losing my dad, I’ve come to find out that life is truly too short to even want to have it all figured out.

So what’s best?…..Well, just go with the flow. Be yourself, and not have it all figured out.

don't have it all figured out
He still doesn’t have it all figured out

In these past two years of writing on this blog I’ve come to learn a lot of things about myself. I’ve learned that I can be a cook, a makeup artist, a self-help coah, and a preacher all at the same time. Call it talent, but I like to call it discovery.

Because each time I take on a new adventure, I discover something about myself. That there are God given gifts buried within me that I wasn’t even aware of.

Sadly, since we live in a society where everyone is trying to tell everyone what and who to be, it can be quite difficult for people to live up to their fullest potentials.

I mean, how would a doctor know if he’s good at fishing if he doesn’t go fishing in the first place?

It common sense right? But common sense is really not that common. And sadly, a lot of people are still searching for it.

Hence why it’s important that you don’t try to have it all figured out. Because if you strive to, you would only find yourself going through a cycle of constant failures wondering what you’re possibly doing wrong.

And at the end of the day, you’ll be even more surprised to realize that you still don’t have it all figured out.

So it’s important that you live in the moment and just be who God made you to be. Because at the end of the day, finding that label that makes it sound like you have it all figured out is only just a label. And behind it is still a person who doesn’t have it all figured out.

Embrace the growth that comes with discovery. It is exactly what’s going to make you live this life to the fullest.

Now with that being said, I am still finding myself everyday. I’ve quit many times and I’ve grown many times.

And I still don’t have it all figured out.
