Raise your hands if you dislike seasonal friendships.
Because I know for a fact that I do.
Whenever someone new comes into my life, I’m always so excited with the hopes that they would become the new Jonathan in my life. However, sometimes they only come in for a season to be a blessing to or a lesson.
So if you’re reading this post and are in a seasonal friendship but can’t really tell, I am going to be sharing 7 major signs to help you tell if your seasonal friendship needs to end.
7 SIGNS YOUR SEASONAL FRIENDSHIP IS OVER
So if you’re currently in a friendship where there is constant disagreement and you two can never seem to agree, you really need to ask yourself if your friendship is seasonal.
It’s normal for friends to disagree once in a while, but if you are constantly finding yourself butting heads with them, then it might be time to call it quits.
A seasonal friendship that has run its course would oftentimes turn into a toxic friendship if both parties don’t separate. So it’s important you look within your friendships and start cutting any cords.
Your paths don’t align
Maybe you both started out with the same vision and goals. But somewhere along the line, your visions started to change. Often times, this could be a sign that your seasonal friendship needs to end.
It’s dangerous to force a friendship that requires both parties to go on different paths. Not only would this affect you, but the other party involved..
You can’t be yourself around them
If you constantly have to downplay your gifting or pretend to be someone you’re not in the company of such friends, it may be time to let go and start embracing the person you were made to be.
There are some friends who will not agree with your purpose. And it’s okay to let go of such individuals.
They only hit you up for favors or prying
It is dangerous to keep friends who only reach out when they want favors or information about your personal life.
Such friends are energy vampires and can literally take advantage of you. It should also be a cause for concern if they only reach out to obtain personal information, with no interest in staying connected.
Not every seasonal friendship that has run its course would stir up jealousy, but oftentimes, this could be a reason to call it quits.
Do you get jealous the moment your friend gets promoted to a higher level than you, or do you celebrate the promotion?…
It’s important you look within your friendships and ask yourself which ones are seasonal, especially if you begin to notice any form of jealousy.
It’s dangerous to have friends who do not celebrate you during times of elevation.
They bring out negative traits in you
If you have friends that constantly bring out the worst in you, it’s important you weed them out and move on.
Friends should make you better, not worse. So if there’s anyone in your life who constantly brings out the worst in you, it’s best you let em go.
They take advantage of your wounds
This point is actually pretty serious and I do recommend you cut off anyone who tries to take advantage of your wounds. If there is someone in your life who you’ve become vulnerable with and as a result is now treating you with scorn. End it!
Do not let anyone take advantage of your wounds.
Someone who is not willing to give their life up for you does not deserve to take advantage of your wounds. Do yourself a favor and call it quits.
