The first time I ever purchased a product from kkw beauty was the powder contour and highlight kit Kim released. There was so much controversy over the palette, but, I ended up loving it. This time around, she released her brand new kkw beauty concealer, and I just knew I would have to give it a shot.
Her first release, the kkw beauty contour, and highlight stick was a huge fail. The quantity of product was ridiculously small, and the packaging, as well as the fragility, was a no-no. However, the powder version did surprise me, and honestly, I tend to reach for it quite often.
Purchasing the kkw beauty concealer was a little bit intimidating. I saw a couple of swatches of the product on Instagram and couldn’t really decide what colour option to purchase. Thankfully, some influencers received PR packages, which sort of helped me decide on what shade to pick.
I purchased mine in the shade #12, and upon receiving my package and testing it out, it seemed like a pretty good product. Obviously, there were a couple issues I did find with the concealers, but in terms of performance and blend-ability, it passed the test.
I would point out that I did come across some mixed reviews online regarding this product before its launch, in terms of how terrible the shade range is. I’m not quite sure if I can agree on that, because depending on how one likes to use their concealers, opinions can certainly vary amongst individuals.
Honestly, I feel like people are so quick to hate on Kim Kardashian that they barely even try to give certain products a shot. There’s no way a review can be honest if one already has a negative mindset about the individual behind the product.
Personally, I have no love or hate towards Kim. No individual is perfect, so I never tend to understand why society is so quick to expect perfection from someone.
Anyways, I just thought I would throw that out there, just so that someone reading this post can understand that hating on another is not the way to go about living life.
KKW BEAUTY CONCEALER REVIEW & SWATCHES
I did like the packaging of the concealers. Nude colours are definitely one of my favourites these days, so I was glad to see that the packaging involved the addition of a nude tint to it.
The quantity of the product, however, is where I do have an issue. Personally, for $18 that’s a lot of money for the number of product consumers receive.
I can’t necessarily say that it would last me a while, as I find I’m more likely to be done with the tube within a month to two. In terms of being a travel size product, I wouldn’t mind picking this up to throw in my purse. For an everyday makeup concealer, it’s definitely not worth the use. If Kim decided to just add a bit more product for the price range, it would have been an amazing deal, but for now, that’s really all I have to say.
The applicator is pretty tiny but does pick up a ton of product in the tube, which I did find useful. It definitely isn’t flimsy, so I do appreciate that a lot.
I do love the formula of this concealer. It’s pretty full coverage and shows up pretty well on the skin, but It didn’t necessarily cover up my dark circles as much as I wanted it to. I personally have a problem with a majority of concealers not covering up my dark circles, so I usually tend to colour correct in order to achieve a more evened out under eye.
The concealer blends out very nicely on the skin and doesn’t dry up to quickly, which I love. It applies on pretty smoothly, so you won’t have to worry about constantly dipping into the tube to get more product.
The concealer comes in 16 different shades, ranging from light to deep dark. Depending on the individual, the shade range might seem a little off to some and just perfect to others. In my situation, however, I didn’t really see anything wrong with the shade range. I definitely picked the right colour that could highlight my undereye, which is usually what I consider when choosing a concealer.
Honestly, I have to admit that I do prefer this shade range a lot more than the Tarte shape tape concealer, which I always have to mix shades in order to achieve a perfect under eye colour. I can definitely say the same for my makeup revolution concealer, which I usually have to mix as well.
Here is a comparison of the kkw beauty concealer amongst a few of my other frequently used concealers:
Honestly, I don’t see too much of a difference between the kkw beauty concealer and a few of my other most used concealers. It works just well on my under eye, and I use a yellow powder to set it, which works just fine. If you’re darker than my skin tone, then you could check out other deeper shades after #12. I’m not too sure about the color range for the other concealers, but I do know that this one did work well with my skin tone, without me looking too yellow or too ashy.
Makeup is all about making products work well for you. And sometimes manufacturers never get it right, so we as consumers have to make it right to suit us a bit more effectively.
If you’re someone who prefers a skin tone concealer, then the shade range might seem a bit off, however, if you’re looking for a concealer for highlight and contour, then this would be a great option.
I believe Kim created this kit for the purpose of getting a bright under eye, so I would definitely warn you not to pick this up if you want a product that suits your skin tone.
Well, this retails for $18 if you intend to purchase the concealer alone. However, there is a kit which comes with 2 powders and brushes that retail for $80. I personally prefer to stick with my holy grail Sasha buttercup setting powder, so I’m not usually a fan of purchasing other powders for my collection. If you are darker skin, I personally would not recommend picking up the bake and brighten powders, as I find them to be quite useless, pricey and ashy. Stick to your regular powders and just pick up the concealer.
You definitely are paying for the name behind the brand, so obviously the price range isn’t too surprising. I just wish it had a bit more product for an everyday use.

Should you buy the kkw beauty concealer?
Honestly, if you have the money to spend on the quantity of product, I would definitely tell you to give it a shot. I would recommend that you pick a shade that can complement your skin tone so that you don’t have as many issues with it.
I personally love this as a travel size concealer and would definitely be using it from time to time.
If the price seems a little off and pricey to you, then I would recommend checking out the Maybelline age rewind concealer, which is pretty affordable and blends like a dream. Plus you do get more for your money with the Age Rewind concealer, which also does a great job hiding dark circles. But really, it all depends on what you’re looking for in a concealer.
If you’re also a fan of Kim and KKW, then do go ahead and give this a try. The formula is pretty great and does a great job at concealing.
Let me know in the comments if you’d consider purchasing the kkw beauty concealer…
