When it comes to hyped up products, especially drugstore beauty products, sometimes I get a bit skeptical.
“Is this really worth it, or is it just going to end up in my trash can?”
It can be hard committing to drugstore makeup, especially when a lot of it tends to perform “not-so-amazingly”
But as long as it’s affordable and it gets the job done, why not break the bank and just give it a try?
So the other day, I was going through my makeup collection and picked my Top 7 drugstore beauty products that I truly considered to be worth the hype.
It’s crazy that I’m even saying this because as someone who always gets deceived by a lot of hype, it’s surprising that I can actually agree with a few releases that are THEBOMB.COM
So without any further rambling, Here are some drugstore beauty products that you seriously need to get your hands on if you haven’t done so already…
~Be sure to also check out the video of this post below for more information about the products mentioned~
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
My Holy Fuc***g Grail!! This concealer is basically perfection. This is definitely another product from Maybelline that is actually pretty amazing.
Looking for a concealer that blends like a dream and still covers up those pesky dark circles? Get yourself the Age Rewind Concealer. It’s only $6, so trust me, you won’t even notice your bank breaking.
Besides covering up dark circles and blending like a dream, it also doesn’t crease like a lot of other drugstore concealers out there. So no need to worry about retouching-up throughout the day.
I use it in the shade caramel, and it’s definitely a constant re-stock for me.
NYX Angel Viel Primer
I used to be soo skeptical about this primer when the hype surrounding it began. Because of my loyalty to the hourglass primer, I was hesitant to consider this product as a dupe.
But the moment I gave this a shot…….., OH MY GHAD!! I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!
This is legit the exact same thing as the hourglass primer, just a lot more affordable. It does retail for $14, but honestly, it is worth giving a shot.
I’m not a big fan of most drugstore primers, as I find a lot of them don’t necessarily keep my makeup in place all day– but this product, however, changed the way I view drugstore primers.
I definitely recommend this 100%, and it definitely is worth the hype.

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara
Did you say too faced better than sex mascara? Well you better not, because the Lash Paradise mascara from L’Oreal beats it hands down to the price point and wear test. No wonder it’s always constantly sold out at my local Walmart.
Honestly, for this post, I was really debating between this product and the telescopic mascara from L’Oreal. But after doing a close examination and comparison, I just had to go with the Lash Paradise.
It adds a lot of length and volume to the lashes without making your lashes look clumpy.
Although I am somewhat of a fan of clumpy lashes, this product did blow my mind with the amount of volume and length it added to my lashes.
Side note: I do have really short natural lashes, so this definitely performs a lot of magic.
Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush
If you’ve watched any of my videos, then you’d know I’m not really a blush girl, but recently I came across this product after seeing it used a couple time by some big beauty influencers and just decided to give it a shot.
Yoo… I was AMAZED!!
After giving this a try, I basically gave up on my Milani coral cove blush (which is still a favourite)…
But this has just become my recent go-to.
It comes in a variety of shades that match quite a lot of skin tones, hence why it makes it to this list.
I would however also recommend checking out the blush collection from Milani, but if it comes down to these two, the wet n wild blush collection is much more affordable for the amazing quality.
Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter
Wanna blind the gods? You better put your shades on and pick up the master chrome highlighter, because this drugstore highlighter isn’t here to play.
You definitely would want to be extra careful when using this product, because a little swatch on a brush does give a lot of pigment. It comes in 3 different shades that look just amazing on any skin tone, so you definitely can’t go wrong with this one.
I tend to use this also as an eyeshadow due to how pigmented it is,….. and quick tip….; Using this as an inner corner highlight on your lids is absolute PERFECTION!! This highlighter is definitely one to have amongst your drugstore beauty products.
Makeup Revolution Banana Powder
There’s never a day I go to my local Ulta and this product is in stock. NEVER!
It’s always sold out because it is just that freaking good.
If you’ve followed my blog for a while now you’ll know that I’ve been a huge fan of the Sasha buttercup setting powder. However, recently I sort of gave up on it after I came across the makeup revolution banana powder. This is way more affordable and a lot less yellow compared to the Sasha buttercup setting powder.
It sets liquids pretty well and doesn’t give any crazy flashback. Plus, it retails for just $5, which I think is a huge steal!!!
If you’re looking for a good drugstore setting powder, then you definitely don’t want to miss out on this one, because it’s pretty good.
Mario Badescu Aleo Spray with Aleo, Cucumber, and Green Tea
I was never a huge fan of the Mario Badescu Rosewater spray, which I talked about why (HERE), however, the spray with aloe, cucumber, and green tea is the shit!
Ever since I came across the hype around this spray, I decided to give it a go and fell in love ever since. I barely even reach for other high-end facial sprays because this does the job amazingly.
One thing that makes this product so great is how well it sets makeup. If you want your makeup to look less cakey and more like skin, then I definitely recommend spraying this after finishing your makeup.
Besides setting makeup, it’s also good to incorporate this spray into your regular skincare routine. It definitely comes in handy, especially when needing some hydration every once in a while.
Let me know in the comments some other drugstore beauty products you feel are worth the hype? I’m definitely curious to know your opinions.
Till next time,
