I finally found a drugstore BB cream that works and it’s this Covergirl clean matte BB cream.
I stumbled across it the other day while I was at the drugstore and felt the push to pick it up.
Usually, I shy away from BB creams simply because I never find any that matches my skin tone. But since this seemed darker than most BB creams I come across, I decided to give it a shot.

No joke, this cream matches my skin tone to the T. Honestly, I think it matches my skin tone way better than any foundation I’ve ever used in the past.
The only downside is that it doesn’t come in a variety of shades which makes it impossible for everyone to try.
That being said, I wanted to give you guys my personal review of this product. So that if you’re thinking of purchasing it, you would have all the information needed to decide if it will work for you or not.
COVERGIRL CLEAN MATTE BB CREAM REVIEW
- No creasing
- Doesn’t clog pores
- Available in few shade ranges
- Oily after a couple of hours
Honestly, I’m in love with this BB cream. I’m so glad I was finally able to find a BB cream that blends well with my skin tone and stays put throughout the day.
The only concern I do have is that after a couple of hours of wear, my oils start to peek through around my T-zone.
This might not be an issue for some people but I personally don’t like it.
I am aware that using powder to touch up throughout the day helps prevent our natural oils from peeking through. However, I’m not a fan of frequent touch-ups.
I like my makeup to stay matte for long hours.
And since this is a BB cream, I kind of expected it to help control my oils.
Regardless, I’m not too salty about it. For the price, it does a really great job.
If you have oily skin and are considering picking up this item, I strongly would give you a go-ahead.
You definitely won’t regret your decision, however, do keep in mind that you might get oily after a couple of hours of wear.
And if that sounds like a problem to you, then I suggest using a tinted moisturizer or foundation instead.
